Kristen M. Trout

Missouri native, Kristen M. Trout is the Museum Director of the Missouri Civil War Museum in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Gettysburg College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Civil War Era Studies. In 2018, she earned her Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership from Webster University in St. Louis. A historic preservationist and historian, Trout has worked with the American Battlefield Trust, the Gettysburg Foundation, the Civil War Institute, and Special Collections at Gettysburg College. Her main focus of research is on Missouri in the Civil War, as well as the Western and Trans-Mississippi Theaters.

Trout lives in the St. Louis area and, in her free time, she enjoys reading and researching all she can on the Civil War in the West and Trans-Mississippi. She also loves to visit Civil War battlefields, run, hike, and play softball.
