Social Media Manager for Emerging Civil War
Darren Rawlings resides in Folkestone, Kent, England, which overlooks the English Channel on a clear sunny day. Darren can even wave to the French. He first became interested in the Civil War after seeing the movie Gettysburg. In 2020, he started his own social media and podcast platform, American Civil War & UK History.
Darren has been a reenactor for more than 20 years and has been a member of the Sealed Knot Society, which reenacts the English Civil Wars. In 2019, he switched from the English to the American Civil War and joined the ranks of the 4th U.S Infantry Regiment Co.K, part of the Southern Skirmish Association.
He is the Southern Skirmish Association’s publicity officer and a member of The American Civil War Round-Table UK, where he serves as Social Media Manager. In 2022, Darren and friend Gina Denham formed Monuments For UK Veterans of the American Civil War Association. You will also find Darren at Deal Castle, a 16th-century artillery fort on the Kent coastline commissioned by Henry VIII in 1539  to protect the coastline from Spanish and French inventions.
He joined the Emerging Civil War Social media team in January of 2024. When he is not podcasting, reenacting, running social media pages, or volunteering, he likes to spend time with his wife and two young daughters.
