The Seventh Annual Emerging Civil War Symposium
at Stevenson Ridge August 6-8, 2021

Join us for “Fallen Leaders” and keynote speaker Gordon Rhea!

Theodore P. Savas will kick off the weekend with a special tour of Payne’s Farm. Gordon Rhea will speak about J.E.B. Stuart’s mortal wounding at Yellow Tavern and the impact on the Army of Northern Virginia. Greg Mertz will offer a Sunday tour of James Longstreet’s wounding at the Wilderness battlefield. Our line-up also includes nine other fantastic ECW speakers!

Event Details:

Get a kickstart on the weekend with a special battlefield tour Friday morning, join us at Stevenson Ridge on Friday evening and Saturday for presentations and discussions, and then venture onto a battlefield for another tour on Sunday morning.

Refund Policy:

  • Full refunds are available through June 1, 2021, minus a $20 service charge
  • June 1-June 30: 50% refund
  • After July 1: No refunds

Stevenson Ridge: Home of this year’s Symposium, Stevenson Ridge offers elegant and historic lodging at one of their several historic cottages. Off-Site Hotels: There are many hotels in Fredericksburg, but reservations at a location in South Fredericksburg is recommended for easier travel to Stevenson Ridge.

The Seventh Annual Emerging Civil War Symposium is being held in Northern Virginia. Traffic in this area of the I-95 corridor can be EXTREMELY heavy on Friday afternoons/evenings, especially if you are traveling in from the north. Please note this as you plan your trip.
