Saving History Saturday: Institutes and Conferences
The new academic semester recently began which makes this a good opportunity to look at institutes and seminars as a part of preservation through telling the story of the Civil War.
The Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College was founded in 1962 and has been putting on a summer conference for over 35 years. This year’s conference will take place June 9th through 14th. The schedule and additional information can be found here.
The John L. Nau III Center for Civil War History at the University of Virginia hosts a Summer Teachers Seminar from June 25th through 30th. Learn more.
The McCormick Civil War Institute at Shenandoah University will hold its Spring Conference on Saturday April 2nd in Winchester Virginia. Click here for more information.
The Virginia Center for Civil War Studies at Virginia Tech hosts their Civil War Weekend March 26th through 28th in Blacksburg, Virginia. Information about the weekend is available here.
