We had a great time at last summer’s event. Our theme was “The Cities of War,” featuring keynote speaker Ted Savas speaking about the Augusta Powder Works. Ten other speakers shared tales from Baltimore, Charleston, New Orleans, New York, Richmond, Saint Louis, San Francisco, and the road to Atlanta. We heard about bread riots, draft riots, and privateering in the Pacific. We had street fighting in Baltimore, hospitals in Fredericksburg, fire in Charleston, and the loss and incredible reclamation of the battlefield in Franklin, Tennessee.
“I learned completely new views of what was happening in the war,” one attendee said.
