Maine At War posts for February 2026
Amidst thundering cannons and billowing gunsmoke, Maine at War spent July 1, 1863 with the 5th Maine Battery at the Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary. We returned to the 21st century to check out Maine’s Civil Wariest library, then met a mariner who was either a Southern sympathizer or an innocent man … depending on the particular newspaper account.
