10,000 Posts: Brian Swartz Dips into the ECW Archives
Three of my favorite posts by ECW members:
Forts: Fury at Fort Harrison by Doug Crenshaw, posted on February 8, 2022. Doug lays out the grand plans involving the capture of Fort Harrison and nearby Confederate-held forts east of Richmond. The Union attackers capture Harrison (one of my favorite Civil War forts), but fail in their ultimate mission. Doug explains why.
A View from Above the Clouds by Neil P. Chatelain, posted on November 24, 2023. While on Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, Neil contrasts the views from Maine’s highest coastal peak with those reported by Union soldiers who captured Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga.
Gettysburg’s Little Round Top Reopens by Chris Mackowski, posted on June 26, 2024. After visiting the just-reopened Little Round Top, Chris Mackowski shoots many photographs while exploring the “new” LRT and shares them with ECW’s readers. I deeply appreciated this first-hand look at one of my two favorite Gettysburg sites.
My own favorite post:
New Hampshire Monument Caused Confederacy a Lot of Trouble, posted on October 2, 2024. While seeking out Civil War monuments in central New Hampshire, I discovered that the monument in Bristol is a massive naval mortar that caused the Confederate some trouble in various places.

Is there a link to the article on the Bristol monument?
