ECW Podcast: Rivalries and Partnerships – Burnside and Hooker (with Ryan Quint)
Ambrose Burnside and Joseph Hooker operated in separate spheres early in the Civil War but, in 1862, found themselves in the Army of the Potomac on a collision course for command. Emerging Civil War’s Ryan Quint asks, “With friends like these, who needs enemies?” Ryan was originally supposed to speak on this topic for the 2026 Emerging Civil War Symposium at Stevenson Ridge but a family emergency prevented his attendance. We offer this podcast as a “make-up” opportunity for our readers, listeners, and attendees.
