Heffernan, ElizabethCentral Virginia Battlefields Trust has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Heffernan as their new executive director. Elizabeth will be taking over the role of CVBT’s previous chief administrator position.

Elizabeth’s work with the Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission as the logistics coordinator/staff manager for the Civil War History Mobile program sparked her interest in preserving history. She also worked for the Governor’s Office as project manager to the annual Governor’s Transportation Conference, where she renovated the sponsorship segment, resulting in a drastic event funding increase.

Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from University of North Carolina and has a strong marketing/sales background. She has lived in Fredericksburg for more than 22 years, and many local residents recognize her as the previous membership and activities director at Fredericksburg Country Club.

Elizabeth will be the main point of contact on all CVBT matters going forward at executivedirector@cvbt.org. CVBT’s office number is 540-374-0900.

  1. Congratulations to Elizabeth Heffernan, although I do not know her personally everything in her background is pure success at everything she has attempted. It is also always a great day when a woman is recognized for her hard work and intelligence and promoted to hopefully be in charge of everything. Happy New Year and I look forward to all the positive changes you will make!
