Week 3 and Upcoming!

We had another great week here at Emerging Civil War.

Keeping with our mission to bring you diverse topics and explore new ideas, Chris Mackowski took us to the often-overlooked Outer Banks of North Carolina. Kristopher D. White offered us Part 3 of his “Bombardment and Looting of Fredericksburg” series. White also posed the question, “Was John Reynolds an Overrated Corps Commander?” There was some great feedback and discussions—check them out if you haven’t had a chance.

We have also updated our Blogroll, added Civil War Forums to the homepage, and continued to update the research center and recommended readings pages.

Over the next few weeks, we have a number of guest posts lined up. We are also excited to add two new permanent authors to the site. More to come soon on the newcomers.

Some topics you can look forward to: the United States Colored Troops; Colonel Elmer Ellsworth; working at the Stonewall Jackson Shrine; more on the Fredericksburg series and the Outer Banks; plus, Daniel Davis on the 1st Massachusetts Cavalry at Aldie. An excellent line up ahead!
