Silent Sentinel

The National Park Service is affording visitors to Spotsylvania a unique treat this evening: To commemorate the 22 hours of combat at the Mule Shoe Salient, an honor guard will be posted at the Bloody Angle until 4:00 a.m. on May 13. Visitors can pay their respects on the battlefield during that time—a rare opportunity to visit the Spotsylvania battlefield at night.
