Year in Review 2015: #6

Year in Review-Header

The countdown continues: ECW’s most-read posts of 2015. We’re up to number six.

Material culture seemed to be a big theme this year. Our eighth-most-read post of the year, Drew Gruber’s post on “The Unique Style Confederate Hat,” focused on material culture. Our own Ashley Webb, a museum curator by trade, has a special interest in the topic. And guest-poster Hannah McClearnen also spun a great material culture-related yarn.

On August 11, 2015, Hannah wrote about knitting.

Hannah just finished her first semester at West Virginia University and will continue work on her graduate degree in the spring, with continued research on knitting in the Civil War.

Our sixth-most-read post of 2015: “Knitting in the Civil War South” by Hannah McClearnen
