The Year in Review 2016: #2

Year in Review-Header

The Civil War Trust once called Robert E. Lee’s headquarters at Gettysburg the most important unprotected land in America. After an impressive fund-raising campaign, the Trust purchased the property, restored it to its wartime appearance and, this past fall, turned the property over to Gettysburg National Military Park.

ECW’s Chris Mackowski paid a visit to the site just prior to the Trust’s grand ribbon-cutting ceremony. His report was ECW’s second-most-read post of 2016.

Coming in at #2: “A Changed Landscape at Lee’s HQ” by Chris Mackowski, posted on Oct. 14, 2016

The post also includes links to some of ECW’s other coverage of the Trust’s campaign to preserve and restore the property.
