On Location: Fort Fisher

At a recent speaking engagement along the Cape Fear River, I had the opportunity to spend some time at one of the Confederacy’s strongest spots: Fort Fisher.

For more information on Ft. Fisher, check out the North Carolina Historic Site’s webpage.

If you visit Fort Fisher, consider a visit to its sister fort, nearby Fort Anderson. ECW paid a visit in February 2016.

I stayed in Southport and took the Southport/Fort Fisher Ferry to the Fort Fisher. Check the ferry schedule here.
