ECW Weekender: ECW on the Road this Weekend

ECW Weekender-Header

Richmond Shall Not Be-coverEmerging Civil War has a lot going on this weekend in Richmond, Gettysburg, and Frederick, including the launch of the newest book in the Emerging Civil War Series.

Folks visiting Richmond National Battlefield on Saturday for the anniversary of the battle of Malvern Hill will have the opportunity to check out Richmond Shall Not Be Given Up: The Seven Days’ Battles by Doug Crenshaw. Doug will be speaking at 1:00 on Saturday at Malvern Hill, with a book signing afterward.

Folks heading to Gettysburg this weekend will also have the chance to enjoy their favorite ECWS books. On Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Dan Davis, Dwight Hughes, Chris Mackowski, Rob Orrison, and Ryan Quint will be signing books at the Gettysburg Battlefield Visitor Center.

Meanwhile, ECW’s Kris White will be out and about on the battlefield with historian Garry Adleman and several guest historians for a series of Facebook Live events for the Civil War Trust.

Finally, at 7:00, Dan, Dwight, Chris, and Rob will be joined by Dan Welch at the Gettysburg Heritage Center for a panel discussion on Civil War history. Their program will be followed by a Q&A and book signing. The event is co-sponsored by our friends at Savas Beatie, LLC.

Ryan won’t be at the evening event because, after the morning book signing, he has to slip away to Frederick, Maryland, where he’ll be giving a special walking tour downtown of sites related to the battle of Monocacy. The event, which begins at 3:00, is sponsored by the Museum of Civil War Medicine.
