ECW Week in Review April 30-May 6
May has opened at ECW and what a week it has been! With our friends at the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park and the Civil War Trust, we participated in the Trust’s Facebook Live events for the 155th Anniversary of the Battle of Chancellorsville on May 2 and May 3. Spots remain available for our August Symposium (you may click here to register). As always, our authors continue to produce great content. You may click on the links below to read each post.
Our work with the Trust this past week generated additional posts on battlefield preservation, including our weekly installment of Preservation News. Chris Mackowski also highlighted the efforts to sustain preserved ground on Zoan Church Ridge at Chancellorsville here and provided a follow up this morning.
Chris also discussed the anniversary of Chancellorsville, the first day of the battle and the 114th Pennsylvania Infantry monument on the battlefield.
Sarah Bierle wrote about James K. Boswell, one of Jackson’s staff officers who fell at Chancellorsville.
This week’s Symposium Spotlight focused on Greg Mertz and the death of Albert Sidney Johnston.
Chris Kolakowski observed the anniversary of Manila Bay.
Dwight Hughes wrote about Port Royal.
We also posted our presentations for May and June.
