Week In Review: September 3-9, 2018

It was a slower week on the blog. (Perhaps our authors are returning from the long holiday weekend?) However, we still had exciting and interesting content every day!

And…ECW podcasts release on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, so our first podcast for September made its appearance. There’s a half-hour of conversation of Florida during the Civil War that you won’t want to miss.

Monday, September 3:

Question of the Week started discussions about the 1862 Maryland Campaign.

Tuesday, September 4:

The first Emerging Civil War podcast for September was released. Check it out!

Wednesday, September 5:

Guest author Kristen M. Pawlak wrote about General Sherman’s post-war visit to Wilson’s Creek Battlefield.

Thursday, September 6:

Sarah Kay Bierle shared accounts of artillerymen foraging for food and some of their misadventures.

Friday, September 7:

Guest author Darryl Smith from the Cincinnati Civil War Round Table reported on his takeaways from the recent CWRT Congress.

ECW Weekender gave hints about a brewery and winery to visit near Chancellorsville Battlefield – and it’s actually a historic location.

Saturday, September 8:

Preservation News focused on Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation’s efforts to save land at Fisher’s Hill.

  1. We weren’t all on holiday! I submitted a piece 2 weeks ago and am still waiting to hear if you folks like it.
