The ECWS Tournament of Books

It’s tourney time! March Madness is building to a fever pitch, but we’re just getting started at ECW. In conjunction with our colleagues as Savas Beatie, we’re pleased to announce the start of our own tournament. Conveniently, our 31st and 32nd books are shipping from the printer this week, so we have just the perfect number of books for our own bracketology.

Let’s take a look at the line-up:

ECWS 2019 Tourney Bracket

(Yes, the print is small, but you can print this out in order to see it larger.)

Here are the rules:

  1. There will be five Facebook rounds: Opening Round, Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, Final Four, and the Championship;
  2. For each head-to-head poll match-up, the book with the most votes will advance to the next round. (In the event of a tie, a coin flip at SB will determine the winner);
  3. Voting is on Facebook only, with a set start and finish time. Each match-up will be 24 hours in length (12:01 am to midnight);
  4. You can only vote ONE time for each head-to-head competition.

WHY PLAY?

  1. Well, it’s fun. We like fun.
  2. Everyone who participates will be entered to win FREE copies of the two books that make it to the championship;
  3. Book prices FALL as they advance! All orders must be placed through Savas Beatie by phone or through Savas Beatie’s website (www.savasbeatie.com) using the code “ECWTOB”;
  4. In the Sweet Sixteen Round: All books begin the round at 10% off regular retail price (and include a signed author bookplate! Shipping is extra)!
  5. In the Elite Eight Round: Each book that advances to this round is an additional 5% off the previous round discount (15% off)
  6. In the Final Four Round: Each book in this round is 20% off
  7. In the Championship Round: Each book in this final Championship round is 25% off.
  8. The Champion: The book that wins it all will be 30% off, and ship FREE with a signed book plate to anyone who orders it by midnight, April 11!

Voting starts on Facebook at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow (Monday) with match-ups in the Northeast Region, hosted in Gettysburg, Pa. Check out Emerging Civil War’s Facebook page to play along and cast your votes.
