Virtual Symposium 2020: The Wake of Antietam

Virtual Symposium 2020 Pawlak 02Today, we’re pleased to share Kevin Pawlak’s talk from the 2020 ECW Virtual Symposium. Kevin’s talk was titled “In the Wake of Antietam: The Loudon Valley Campaign of 1862.”

“I enjoy studying the Loudoun Valley Campaign for two main reasons,” Kevin explains. “First, it is vastly understudied and fills an important hole in the story of the war in the Eastern Theater. Also, the battlefields of the Loudoun Valley Campaign are, for the most part, in an excellent state of preservation, making them great sites to visit.”

Kevin was glad the virtual symposium gave him the opportunity to hang out with his ECW colleagues. “Of course, it would have been nice if the whole symposium crew could have been there–attendees and all,” he adds, “but we’ll have to wait for next year!

  1. Thanks for providing Civil War programming during the pandemic.

Would it be possible to provide program handouts and maps as downloads?
