Preservation Virginia has released their 2021 report of most endangered historic sites. Included on the list are several places with direct and indirect ties to the Civil War:

- Connor House (Manassas)
- Fort Wool (Hampton Roads)
- Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (Gainesville)
- Turkey Run House (Chesterfield County)
- Mount Calvary Cemetery Complex (Portsmouth)
- Shockoe Hill African Burying Ground (Richmond
