Saving History Saturday: Endangered Historic Sites in Virginia

Preservation Virginia has released their 2021 report of most endangered historic sites. Included on the list are several places with direct and indirect ties to the Civil War:

  • Civil War Battlefields in which United States Colored Troops (USCT) Fought
  • Connor House (Manassas)
  • Fort Wool (Hampton Roads)
  • Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (Gainesville)
  • Turkey Run House (Chesterfield County)
  • Mount Calvary Cemetery Complex (Portsmouth)
  • Shockoe Hill African Burying Ground (Richmond
