Symposium Spotlight: Jonathan A. Noyalas, Keynote

Emerging Civil War is thrilled to announce one of the Keynote Speakers for the 2024 Symposium! 

Jonathan A. Noyalas is a history professor at Shenandoah University and director of its McCormick Civil War Institute. He is the author or editor of sixteen books and has published more than 100 chapters, essays, articles, and reviews for a variety of scholarly and popular publications including Civil War Times, America’s Civil War, and Civil War History. Throughout his career Noyalas has consulted on a variety of public history projects with organizations such as the National Park Service, American Battlefield Trust, and the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation. Noyalas is the recipient of numerous awards for his teaching and scholarship including Shenandoah University’s Teaching Excellence Award for the first year seminar and the State Council for Higher Education in Virginia’s Outstanding Faculty Award.

Jonathan will be presenting about the Shenandoah Valley in 1864, and you won’t want to miss this informative discussion!
