That everyone who studies the Civil War wakes up to the fact that BG John Bell Hood was half a mile west of Fox’s Gap on September 14, 1862, that the Confederates were surrounded on three sides, that the Confederates lost 1,000 dead at Fox’s and Turner’s Gap, and that Abraham Lincoln issued his Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation because of the overwhelming Union victory at South Mountain, not Antietam!!!!
Maybe check out Perryville. We were in Memphis and New Orleans earlier this year but didn’t get to check either place out in depth. That might be an option.
