Emerging Civil War Welcomes Drew Pullen

We’re excited to welcome Drew Pullen to the fold of writers here at Emerging Civil War.

Drew is the author of several beautiful volumes about the Civil War on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, including Portrait of the Past: The Civil War on Roanoke Island,  Portrait of the Past: The Civil War on Hatteras Island, and Portrait of the Past: The Civil War in New Bern & Fort Macon. The books, which are elegant coffee table volumes, are a little tough to find, so if you can get your hands on them, be sure to snatch them up.

Drew is also the chair of the Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee for the Outer Banks, “Flags Over Hatteras.”

Drew is a graduate of Houghton College and did graduate studies at SUNY Geneseo. He is presently retired after managing the Hatteras and Ocracoke offices of the East Carolina Bank for over 27 years. His wife JoAnne is from a local Hatteras family and her great-great grandfather was stationed at Fort Hatteras during the Civil War.. Drew has written several articles on the Civil War for local newspapers and continues to research Civil War and American Revolutionary War action in North Carolina for future books.
