ECW welcomes Jackson Foster

We’re pleased to welcome aboard Jackson Foster, a photographer and graphic designer based in the Fredericksburg, Virginia, area. Jackson has a keen, creative eye, and we’re pleased he’ll be sharing his battlefield photography with you.

Jackson’s been a life-long student of the Civil War. Since relocating from to Fredericksburg from Chicago in 2005, his interest in photography, and opportunities and availability to photograph the historic sites he loves, has been reborn.

Jackson also is the owner of The ID Entity, a strategic graphic design firm that specializes in creating brand building communications. This work includes design for book and magazine publishing, exhibit and environmental design, corporate identity and communications, historic preservation, and tourism and economic development. (For more information, you can visit www.theID-entity.com or call at 540-834-0151.)

ECW readers might know Jackson’s layout work on some of Chris Mackowski and Kris White’s early books, including The Last Days of Stonewall Jackson; The Dark, Close Wood; and Chancellorsville: Crossroads of Fire. Jackson has also done extensive work for the Central Virginia Battlefields Trust, including their annual journal, Fredericksburg History & Biography.

Look for Jackson’s first post later this week–you won’t be disappointed!
