“Tales From the Tombstone”

Welcome to the first edition of new series here on Emerging Civil War. Inspired by a publication titled Generals at Rest: The Grave Sites of the 425 Official Confederate Generals by Richard Owen and James Owen, I have embarked on my own quest to photograph and learn about these men.

In the process there will be some names very familiar to Civil War enthusiasts but many more may not be as recognizable. Either way, the little stories and interesting facts, along with a picture or two of their graves, will be the basis of this series.

I hope you provide the “Tales from the Tombstone” as fascinating as I do!

Check back for the first general!
