Year In Review: Symposium Spotlight
On August 5-7, 2016 Emerging Civil War hosted our third annual historical symposium. The 2016 theme was “Great Attacks” and was enjoyed by members and attendees. Hosted at Stevenson Ridge, the event included a question-and-answer panel, delicious meals, and a walking tour of the Second Battle of Fredericksburg.
Keynote speaker James Ogden shared about James Longstreet’s assault at Chickamauga. The eight other speakers – David Powell, Chris Kolakowski, Ryan Quint, Matt Atkinson, Kristopher D. White, Chris Mackowski, Steve Davis, Lee White, and Edward Alexander – discussed attacks and commanders at other important Civil War battles.
In the weeks leading up to the Great Attacks Symposium, some blog posts introduced the speakers and their topics. We’ve rounded up those blog posts and some other symposium related articles to celebrate this successful event in our “Year in Review.”
