June 2022 Emerging Civil War Newsletter Now Available

Chris Mackowski visits the grave of writer Shelby Foote in Memphis, TN

What better way to start out the week than with the good news in the June 2022 Emerging Civil War newsletter? We sent it out to subscribers on Monday—but you can still read it, too!

In this issue:

  • ECW Editor-in-Chief crams a whole lot of Memphis history into a single day
  • Our News & Notes take us to Boston; Franklin, TN; Pointe Du Hoc, France; Veazie, ME; and Wounded Knee.
  • Paige Gibbons Backus gives us a little insight into ECW’s social media madness
  • The ERW historians are gearing up to “do” Monmouth

And of course, we offer an opportunity to snatch up those last few tickets to the upcoming Eighth Annual Emerging Civil War Symposium at Stevenson Ridge.

If you’re not a subscriber, we recommend that you sign up to get our email every month. Just follow the link, and at the top of the newsletter will be a blue button that says “Join our email list.” (If you think you should be getting it but aren’t, check your junk mail folder and be sure to authorize us as “not junk.”) Be assured: we do not give out your email addresses to anyone!

While you’re at it, don’t forget to follow ECW on Facebook, Instagram (@Emergingcwblog), and YouTube. Please share and like our pages.

One Simple Thing You Can Do to Help ECW

If you see one of our posts on Facebook or Twitter that you particularly enjoy, please share it on your own social media. Help us spread the good work that our writers are creating. Thanks!

  1. I was fortunate to grow into my interest in the Civil War while Mr. Foote was still alive and active. I heard him many times, an unforgettable memory.
