June 2024 ECW Newsletter Now Available
The temperature isn’t the only thing hot this month! The June edition of the ECW newsletter is turning up the dial with great news and content! Did you get your copy? In the June 2024 issue:
- Editor-in-Chief Chris Mackowski shares a visit to Gettysburg’s Plum Run with his son–a ground once stained red and full of carnage now bustles with life.
- We’re at it again and are proud to announce that the latest Emerging Civil War book, The War in the Western Theater, is now available!
- Stacy Allen, chief ranger/historian at Shiloh National Military Park, wrote a wonderful review of The Civil War on the Water.
- Captain Lorimer L. Graham, brevetted for gallant and meritorious service during both the Mexican and Civil Wars, turned to crime during peacetime. In this issue, we highlight how he went from uniforms to rags.
- We catch up on a busy month of ECW podcast episodes and tell you how you can catch the soothing voice of ECW’s Chris Mackowski and an array of special guests as you drive. (Yes! You can get your ECW fix anywhere!)
- We continue preparations for the 2024 Emerging Civil War Symposium on August 2-4 at Stevenson Ridge in Spotsylvania.
- Neil Chatelain and Bert Dunkerly have taken to the streets this summer promoting their recent books.
- Evan Portman has been very busy with American Battlefield Trust events. (He has been spotted at Valley Forge! He was not freezing, so that is a good thing!)
and much more!!! (that was a mouthful!)
