March 2025’s Cover Image: The Confederate Line at Atlanta
This month’s cover image is a photo taken by George Barnard.
According to the Library of Congress, where you can find a hi-res version of the image:
“View along the rebel line just east of the Western & Atlantic R.R., Potter’s house [Ponder house] in the middle ground, Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 1864. Photograph shows Confederate fortifications and chevaux-de-frise.”

Thank you for posting the photo as well as where we can find a higher resolution photo and other photos from the Atlanta campaign.
While it may today be a highway like so many other locations, like the barn where Booth was shot, where in google maps is this.
