WIFE WANTED.
As marriageable ladies are scarce in and about Camp Wilkes, the undersigned take this method of making known his want of a wife to the female portion of the world who contemplate matrimony. He has sighed in single blessedness long enough, and now desires to share his lot with some lovely susceptible and chaste young lady, to whose many other virtues she may be able to add some of the filthy dross of this world. His lot is not a very large one, to be sure, being covered almost entirely by his 14 by 16 foot shanty, but his heart is large, and capable of vast expansion, as the object of his love increases. He cannot complain of being rich, not having anything but his pay, but this will sustain quite a large family in comfortable circumstances, if they are willing to live on Government jumbles, rive pudding, and meat that is rich in fat. All correspondence will be kept a profound secret from all persons except the comrades of the undersigned. For further particulars, call on or address,
Lieut. Z
Camp Wilkes, Va.
Absolutely loved the language in this stor! Thanks for sharing!
