This week’s weekender features an event occurring Thursday, February 13th at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Unknown “Lincoln-Douglas” Debate features Tony nominated actors Norm Lewis and Stephen Lang as Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglas. Although Douglas and Lincoln met and corresponded several times, they never debated publicly. Along with historian Harold Holzer, Lewis and Lang finally bring these two figures face to face on the public stage in a debate constructed from their own words and writings.
Event is at 6:00. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at http://www.metmuseum.org/events/programs/concerts-and-performances/unknown-lincoln-douglass?eid=4185.
