TONIGHT: The American Battlefield Trust’s Civil War Fantasy Draft

Fantasty Draft

Join ECW tonight at 7:15 for a fun Facebook LIVE special event sponsored by the American Battlefield Trust: The Civil War Fantasy Draft!

ECW historians Dan Davis, Chris Kolakowski, Chris Mackowski, Dave Powell, and Kris White will be participating, along with Garry Adelman, Doug Douds, Jim Hessler, Connor Townsend, and Wayne Motts. You can play along, too!

From the Trust:

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Patrick Cleburne served under Robert E. Lee or if George McClellan commanded the Army of the Tennessee? Well, now just might be your chance to answer some of your Civil War what-if questions.

Join us on Friday, April 24th, at 7:15 PM as we gather online with several historian guests to host our first-ever Fantasy Civil War Commander Draft.

Do you want to join in on the fun? We invite you to submit your fantasy draft picks before Friday. Any Civil War general from North or South will be on the big board, and available for service. Don’t be afraid to mix things up! Anyone who submits their picks in advance will be entered to win a copy of Battle Maps of the Civil War: The Eastern Theater. We also might read your picks live!

QUESTION: How do I watch these online events? Why is there not a link provided beforehand?

ANSWER: First of all, thank you for your interest in our LIVE events, and Zoom Goes the History series! To watch these events all you need to do is visit the American Battlefield Trust’s Facebook Page [] at the event time. The LIVE video should appear on our stream at or around the time listed (allowing for technical mishaps). Why can’t we provide a link beforehand? This is due to the event streaming LIVE, a link does not exist before the stream starts. We hope this is helpful and that you continue to join us for hours of education, fun, and conversation.

  1. Due to problems with the technology, I was shut-out from watching the LIVE event. Have you determined to load a recording of it someplace so that I can watch it?
