I saw part of this sheet on display at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum in Jackson last month and sought out the full set of images.
From the Library of Congress:
“Uncut sheet of twelve illustrated cards presenting the journey of a slave from plantation life to the struggle for liberty, for which he gives his life, as a Union soldier during the Civil War.”
Created ca. 1863 by artist James Fuller Queen.

What beautiful illustrations, and an important historical artifact. Any thoughts as to how these cards were used / distributed?
