In 2017, Emerging Civil War hosted a special series focusing on “My Favorite Historical Person” and inviting historians to share about their heroes from the past. Steward Henderson shared how Frederick Douglass has been inspiration to him and we thought it would be a nice article from the archives to highlight for Black History Month.
